No.18 May 1991 CUHK Newsletter Executive MBA Asia Advanced Management Programme T he Asia Pacific Institute of Business and the Faculty of Business Administration of the University jointly organized an Asia Advanced Management Programme from 22nd to 26th Ap r il for 39 executive MBA students from the University of Pittsburgh. The programme was intended to familiarize these executives with business opportunities and developments w i t h in the Asia-Pacific region. Opportunities were also provided for examining the financial, marketing and management practices in Hong Kong and China. The programme included a series of lectures, panel discussions, case studies and field visits conducted by faculty of the University and key executives from the local business community, including Mr. Gordon Wu, managing director of Hopewell Holdings Limited; Dr. K. K. Tse, general manager of Shui On Investment; Dr. Daniel Ng, managing director of McDonald's Restaurants (HK); Mr. Barry Wain, editor of Asian Wall Street Journal, and M r . Andrew Ma, assistant director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. New Asia S.Y. Chung Visiting Fellow Programme P rof. C. N. L i u, a world renowned anatomist from the United States, visited New Asia College as its S.Y. Chung Visiting Fellow from 4th to 26th April, and on 16th April conducted a pub l ic lecture en t i t l ed ‘Adjustments of the Central Nervous System Fo l l ow i ng Damage'. Prof. Liu received his BS degree from the Peking Normal University in 1938 and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1949. He was appointed professor o f anatomy of the University of Pennsylvania in 1960 and was honoured as professor emeritus when he retired in 1983. Prof. Liu is a fellow of the Academia Sinica, Taiwan, and has been an honorary visiting professor of the Chinese Academy of Med i c al Sciences since 1982.
