Fee-based Library Membership 收費圖書證

While the primary mission of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library is to serve the academic and research needs of the faculty, students and staff of the University, individuals who have research needs but not currently members of the CUHK may apply for the use of the Library with charges.

Library privileges are granted on a personal basis only and may not be used by or on behalf of anyone else. Users are responsible for complying with Library regulations and for all fees and losses incurred. The Library reserves the right to deny use to individuals that abuse library privileges or in any way infringe on the priority rights of CUHK staff or students. Also, please note that remote or off-campus access to library electronic resources is not applicable to fee-based library membership users.

Charges

Category A: Teaching/administrative/professional staff & students of education/academic institutions, and staff of the Hong Kong government bodies, who are with research needs

Borrower's Card:

 HK$1,100 per person per annum
Borrowing privilege: 10 vols. for 30 days (Max. Loan Period: 180 days)

Reader's Card:
(On-site reading privilege)

 HK$600 per person per annum or
HK$400 per person for 3 months

Category B: Researchers in non-profit organizations who are with research needs solely for educational/academic purpose

Borrower's Card:

 HK$2,100 per person per annum
Borrowing privilege: 10 vols. for 30 days (Max. Loan Period: 180 days)

Reader's Card:
(On-site reading privilege)

 HK$1,100 per person per annum or
HK$400 per person for 3 months

Category C: Other Researchers

Borrower's Card:

 HK$4,100 per person per annum
Borrowing privilege: 10 vols. for 30 days (Max. Loan Period: 180 days)

Reader's Card:
(On-site reading privilege)

 HK$2,100 per person per annum or
HK$700 per person for 3 months

Important Notes

  1. Library staff will contact you upon receipt of your application form. 
  2. Request will be considered on an individual basis, the Library reserves the right to reject any request.
  3. Please have your recent passport photo ready before making application.
