    Chung Chi College Elisabeth Luce Moore Library (CCL) is pleased to welcome back all students and freshmen. In response to the changing needs for your learning, teaching and research, we are excited to share with you that the entire CCL Second Floor has been fully refurbished to include a purpose built Music Library with sound proof listening rooms. The 2/F has been renovated to house the significant music and audio visual collection of over 110,000 items. These items include the Pian collection, audio visual collections relocated from United College Library (UCL), and over 7,000 audio CDs previously held by the Music Department.     Paper-cutting is one of the oldest and most popular folk arts in China. Born in Huazhou, Guangdong in 1932, Chen Qiuying is a renowned Chinese paper-cutting artist. He has been making paper-cuts since he retired in 1993. When he was young, he joined the army and lived in border areas of Yunnan for many years. By drawing inspiration from life and culture of ethnic groups, he has created a unique artistic style. Many of his works reflect the traditions and life styles of the minority ethnic groups in China. Over the years he won many prizes in China and his paper-cut artworks are collected by the Guangzhou Art Museum. In 2018, he generously donated over 300 pieces of paper-cut artworks to the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library. This exhibition showcases over 100 pieces of work...

    Visiting Historical Sites of Japanese Occupation
    A tour of St. Stephen’s College and Stanley Military Cemetery, guided by Mr. Wani Yukio and Ms. Lavender Cheung

    St. Stephen’s College was turned into an emergency military hospital in 1941 and became an internment camp durung the Japanese occupation. Situated next to the college, the Stanley Military Cemetery was opened for the burial of those who were executed by the Japanese or who died while prisoners of war, including members of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps and British Army Aid Group. Mr. Wani Yukio will provide a two-hours guided tour of St. Stephen’s College the Heritage Trail and the Stanley Military Cemetery.

    In the academy, we assume that I as a subject is distant and excluded from the marginalized other. The social constructed other sometimes is stigmatized and labeled by religions. Locating at the centre, I still have a dynamic relationship with the other, which is marginalized at the border.
