Library Staff Directory

As University Librarian I am responsible for strategic leadership of CUHK Library. This includes policy, direction, financial management and overall responsibility for the library staff who work across our seven libraries. I am advised by my team of senior librarians and am committed to working in partnership with CUHK students, faculty and others to ensure CUHK Library continues as a leading research library in East Asia.

As Deputy University Librarian, I assist the University Librarian on operational and staff issues as well as participate in strategic planning, policy making and financial management. I am also responsible for providing direction on the development of the library collection, electronic resources, archive and special collections to support the teaching, learning and research activities in the University. I am responsible for management of the Learning Support and User Services Departments as well as the various branch libraries. In my role I also co-ordinate the Faculty Liaison team for the Library.

I am responsible for providing leadership to the Technical Services and Library IT & Systems teams, including overall direction for acquisitions, cataloging, collection development and preservation, gift & exchange, the integrated library system and library’s technologies, to support the teaching, learning and research activities in the University.

I am responsible for the strategic development and implementing research service to support all aspects of the research lifecycle. My scholarly communication team and I actively engage with researchers to advocate and promote best practice in research dissemination, scholarly publishing and research impact.

I lead and manage the work of the Digital Initiatives in support of a broad range of digital and data-intensive scholarly activities. The digital scholarship is a cross-disciplinary area where participants from various backgrounds, including information professional, programmers and researchers, engage in collaborative scholarly inquiries. Areas of focus for Digital Scholarship Services include digitalization, data visualization, text and network analysis, geographic information systems (GIS), and infrastructure support. My team and I provide technical support, outreach, and instruction to students, faculty, and staff in wide-ranging efforts that use digital technologies to advance scholarship through not only traditional publication workflows, but also via participation in digital repository.

As Special Collections Librarian, I oversee the collection development for rare books, special collections, manuscripts and archival materials. I work closely with faculty and library staff on special collections and archives initiatives and digitization projects. I am also responsible for the planning and management of exhibitions and events to promote the Library’s treasures for teaching and research needs.

I am responsible for strategic development of the IT infrastructure, enterprise library systems, technologies, applications and hardware for patron and library staff use in support of the Library’s mission and strategic plan.

I am responsible for management of library administration, including general administration, human resources, finance, marketing communication, facilities and risk management.
