H.Y. Ngo graduated from the Faculty of Social Science of CUHK, and then obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Chicago. Prof. Ngo has a broad research interests, doing research in various areas such as gender, work and employment, organization, and education. He has published more than 90 papers in academic journals. His current research interests include work life balance, careers, migration, and social issues in Hong Kong. Prof. Ngo also provided various services to the university and the local community
