Summer Internship Interviews

Stepcase (of Science Park) is looking for summer interns with compensation and potential FYP students to work on their projects. This is a great opportunity for you to earn some extra funds for your WWDC trip. Here are some project ideas:

  1. Research and implement ways to group, filter and search contact details efficiently on iPhone.
  2. Research and implement a better view for displaying contact details or call favorites.
  3. Research and implement contact merging and detecting contact duplication on iPhone.
  4. An app with natural language processing, which it recognizes and imports the contact details from an URL or text snippet.
  5. An OCR-enabled app, which it takes a business card picture, and recognize and import the contact details within it.
  6. Any other ideas on manipulating iPhone's address book and contacts.

Internship Job Description

Duties:

  1. Create, develop, and maintain iPhone applications and web backend.
  2. Design and optimize interfaces to ensure the software are easy-to-use and intuitive.
  3. Ad-hoc projects assigned by the director from time to time.

Learning scopes & opportunities offered by the internship:

  1. Engineering in a Web 2.0 company.
  2. Work on the iPhone, the most complete mobile platform.

Time Frame

  1. 25th of May: Intern starts
  2. 8th of June: WWDC
  3. 31st of August: End of full-time internship
  4. 1st of September: Determine to proceed the part time opportunity
