C h o h- M i n g L i , Vice-Chancellor of the Un i v e r s i t y, received the award of C . B . E. ( H o n . ); and M r . T . C . Cheng, P r o - V i c e - Ch a n c e l l or of the Un i v e r s i ty and President of U n i t ed College, the award of O . B . E. GIFTS FROM THE AMERICAN WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION A cheque for $9,000 was presented to T h e Chinese Un i v e r s i ty by the Ame r i c an Wome n 's Association as the Association's donation for nine scholarships set up in the Un i v e r s i ty in the current academic year. M i ss He l en Perrell, Scholarship Ch a i rman of the Ame r i c an Wome n 's Association, made the presentation on January 24 in her office in the U S I S L i b r a r y. M r . H . T . W u , t h e Un i v e r s i ty Registrar, received the cheque on behalf of the Un i v e r s i t y. T h e scholarships, to be named the Ame r i c an Women's Association Scholarships, are to assist needy students of sufficient academic ability to continue their education where otherwise this wo u ld be impossible or financially very difficult. T h r ee of the scholarships are for the University's Social W o r k students, one for an Economics student, and five for students in the Un i v e r s i t y 's School of Education. One of the scholarships in the last group is equally shared by two students. THE DR. L I TSOO-YIU SCHOLARSHIP A cheque for $17,000 was donated to T h e Chinese Un i v e r s i ty b y the Y 's Me n 's Clubs of H o n g K o n g, K o w l o on and V i c t o r ia at a j o i nt luncheon meeting of the C l ub on January 12. T h e mo n ey w i l l be used to establish a memo r i al scholarship to be awarded to a student of Chinese i n this Un i v e r s i ty in honour of the late D r . L i T s o o- Y i u , a medica l practitioner, philanthropist and scholar. T h e presentation was made by M r s . Jane L i and accepted by M r . T . C . Cheng, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor. MEMBERS OF BOARDS OF STUDIES, 1966/67 T h e memberships of various Boards of Studies for the academic year 1966/67 were approved by the Senate w i t h the Vice-Chancellor and the President of each of the Colleges as ex officio members of all Boards.
