Abstract

This is the first chapter of a book on Educational Psychology being jointly written by four colleagues, including the author, of the CUHK School of Education. In addition to aims and methods, the functions and intellectual orientations of Educational Psychology are also discussed. This chapter is the result of a careful survey of relevant literature intended for Chinese students and teachers interested in psychological study of educational problems.
