The laboratory is equipped with advanced instruments
for teaching and research in areas of water, noise and air pollution.
For water pollution, the laboratory is equipped for basic chemical
analysis of inorganic, organic and bacteriological pollutants
with an array of instruments including GC/MS, anodic stripping
voltammeter, ion-selective and TOC analyzers, ion chromatograph,
UV-VIS and atomic absorption spectrophotometer, BOD and bacterial
incubators. For noise studies, the laboratory has a number of
precision sound level meters and frequency analyzers as well
as a suite of GIS-based computer models for noise prediction
and noise mapping. In addition to the air quality monitoring
system described below, the laboratory has also a suite of portable
of optical and electrochemical equipment for measuring RSP and
various gaseous pollutants.
