Admission Information

Qualification Criteria

Applicants should meet all qualification criteria of the Graduate School and must obtain a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in recognized tertiary institutions.

  • graduated from a recognized university and obtained a bachelor's degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class; or
  • graduated from an honours programme of a recognized university with a bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B"; or
  • completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honours degree.
  • Past academic record, work experience, references and language abilities will be considered in the admission decision. Applicants may be required to attend an interview/or test as part of the admission process.

Procedures and Preparation

Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible since admission is competitive and applications are processed on a rolling basis. Applicants should submit applications via the Internet through Online application. All required support documents must reach our Graduate Division before the application deadline. (Please note that documents once submitted will not be returned, and will be disposed if the application is unsuccessful. Please mark “MACUM Application” with your name and application number on the envelope)

 

The required support documents include:

  1. Submit Online Application Form (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/gss);
  2. Official Transcripts from the University attended by applicants*;
  3. Copies of degree certificates;
  4. Original copy of English test score report showing the applicant has fulfilled the Graduate School's English Language Proficiency Requirement;
  5. Confidential Recommendations from two referees respectively*;
  6. Copies of identity card or passport; 
  7. A written statement in English explaining the purpose of application and study motivation; and 
  8. Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate issued by the CHESICC**

 

*Official Transcripts and Confidential Recommendation must reach our Graduate Division directly from the University and referees, or in sealed envelopes and send by the applicant with other support documents to our Graduate Division.

**Applicants who obtained degrees from universities in Mainland China are required to provide an Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate (教育部學歷證書電子註冊備案表) issued by the CHESICC (學信網) together with other supporting documents. Please refer to the official website of the CHESICC on the sample of the Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate at https://www.chsi.com.cn/xlcx/bgys.jsp.

 

We value authenticity. An honest and sincere personal statement written by applicant’s own will be beneficial. Applicants do not need to submit applications via any education agents.

 


Tuition Fee

1 year full-time: HKD$125,000 per annum (subject to review)
2 years part-time: HKD$62,500 per annum (subject to review)


Application Deadline

28 Feb 2021

 

Applications will be processed on a rolling basis until all places have been filled. Therefore, early applications are strongly encouraged.

 

Application Result

Results will be posted on the Graduate School website (taught programmes) from mid-February to July every year. Successful applicants will receive the offer letter by July of that admission year. Applicants may consider their applications unsuccessful if they do not hear from us thereafter.
