Project Introduction
Web services, including SOAP-based services and RESTFul services are becoming major techniques for building loosely-coupled distributed systems. Quality-of-Service (QoS) is usually employed for describing the non-functional characteristics of Web services and employed as an important differentiating point of different services. With the prevalence of service computing and cloud computing, more and more Web services are provided on the Internet, QoS management of Internet services is becoming more and more important. The research topics of this project include, but not limited to:
- QoS evaluation of services
- Personalized QoS prediction
- QoS-aware service selection
- Service recommendation techniques, e.g., collaborative filtering, matrix factorization, location-based recommendation, time-aware recommendation, etc.
- QoS-aware service search, discovery, and ranking
- QoS-aware fault tolerance for service computing and cloud computing
- Big Data-as-a-Service and Service-generated Big Data
- Crowdsourcing in service computing and cloud computing
- Social network in service computing and cloud computing
- Other interesting topics which employ DM/IR/ML techniques for solving important research problems in service computing and cloud computing.
