Dr. Lee is a Research Associate at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Previously, he has worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Department of Computer Science, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He has worked on the cInQ project of the European Union at the Institut für Informatik, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (ALU-FR), Germany. His areas of research interest include bioinformatics, data mining, indexing of high-dimensional data, clustering and classification and information management on the WWW. Besides being a teaching assistant at the Computer Science Department, HKU and the Institut für Informatik, ALU-FR, he also has experience in doing research and development for e-Business systems on the Internet at the E-Business Technology Institute, HKU, focusing on XML and related technologies and their applications in e-Commerce. He has also worked for the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) to design, develop and implement systems for trading Fixed-Income instruments.
Dr. LEE Sau Dan obtained his Ph.D. degree from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, Germany. His doctoral thesis was ``Constrained Mining of Patterns in Large Databases''. He received his B.Sc. (Computer Science) degree with first class honours in 1995 and his M.Phil. degree in 1998 from the University of Hong Kong. His M.Phil. thesis was titled ``Maintenance of Association Rules in Large Databases''.
