Chung Chi College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held its 64th Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, November 15, 2018. 755 Chung Chi graduates were conferred this year. The ceremony was presided by Mr. HAU Wun Fai Alfred, Acting Chairman of the College Board of Trustees. The Honourable WONG Yan Lung, GBM, SC, former Secretary for Justice of The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was invited as the Guest of Honour.
The ceremony featured an address by Mr. WONG who spoke on the relationship between the protection and the restriction of fundamental human rights. While persisting in upholding your faith and principle, graduates should also clarify carefully the motivation between personal pursuit and social benefit. They should pursue the truth and be open-minded to different opinions. He concluded his speech with a Bible verse to encourage graduates to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly.
Mr. CHONG Cheuk Long, Conrad, the Valedictorian this year, a graduate of the Integrated Business Administration Programme, delivered the graduation speech at the ceremony. He stated in his speech, “While we always trying to do something big or seeking for breakthroughs, we should also remember the importance of trying our best to make every trifle well.” He encouraged the others to be grateful for every single progress we have made.
Prof. FONG Wing Ping, Head of Chung Chi College, then presented certificates and gifts to the graduates. Mr. CHAN Shu Wai Jimmy, Chairman of the Alumni Association, welcomed graduates to join the big family. The ceremony ended with the benediction by The Very Rev. FAN Chun Ho, member of the College Board of Trustees.
