The Pearl River Delta Social Research Centre organized an international conference ‘Half Century of Migration and Regional Integration in South China’ at CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute from May 17 to 19. The opening ceremony of the Centre's Shenzhen office was also held during the Conference.
Prof. Min Zhou from the University of California, Los Angeles and Prof. Ngai Pun from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University were invited as the keynote speakers of the conference.
South China is one of the most economically and socially dynamic regions in China and geographically close to Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. This conference aims to provide a forum for discussing/sharing theories and strategies regarding the rapid social development and changes in the region, and exchanging knowledge and interdisciplinary research on migration and regional integration.
