Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme 2021-22
(30 local students will be subsidised by the fellowship of HK$120,000)
Background
The Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme is launched by the University Grants Committee (UGC). The main objectives of the Scheme are to attract more meritorious local students to pursue further studies in priority areas conducive to the development of Hong Kong, and to encourage universities to establish more innovative and multi-disciplinary programmes that are beneficial to society.
Amount of Fellowships
Each awardee will be subsidised by the fellowships of HK$120,000 for the whole programme. The fellowships will be used for the settlement of the tuition fee only. A total of 30 fellowship places has been allocated to the Master of Social Science Programme in Social Work for the 2021-22 Intake under the priority area of “Healthy living and caring community”.
Eligibility
- Local students, both full-time and part-time, admitted to the Master of Social Science Programme in Social Work for the 2021-22 Intake (i.e. accepted the admission offer from the Graduate School with admission deposit settled) are eligible to apply for the Scheme.
- To avoid double subsidy, applications from students who are receiving other forms of government scholarships, including the Continuing Education Fund (except the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme under the Student Finance Office) for pursuing the same programme will not be considered.
Application Procedures of Fellowships Scheme
Local students admitted to the Master of Social Science Programme in Social Work for the 2021-22 Intake (i.e. accepted the admission offer with admission deposit settled) will receive email invitation for the application of Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme 2021-22. An application form will be attached in the email.

There will be 3 rounds of application and selection of the Fellowships Scheme:

Result Announcement :
Upon recommendation from the Department of Social Work, the Graduate School will review the application documents and send official award letter to awardees by 30 June 2021.
Note to Applicants :
Offers could be made only when places of the Fellowships Scheme are still available. Hence, competitions at later rounds are more competitive as places are fewer.
