Social work practices recognize the importance of emotions in human functioning and its relationship with the well-being of individuals and families. The course facilitates students to understand the underlying meaning and functions of emotions in clients’ contexts. Students will be able to apply social work perspectives in problem formulation and social work interventions, understand how to use different therapeutic approaches in working with emotions; as well as use one’s personal emotional experiences as a source of information in building up work alliance and working with clients.
