Details:

We all experience inequality in one way or the other.
Have you ever thought of why inequality matters?

For the 3rd episode of the Arts and Humanities Conversations at CUHK, we have invited Prof. Elmo Gonzaga and Prof. Ron Darvin look at how inequality can be studied in different ways.

Prof. Gonzaga will explain how spy and sci-fi movie franchises, such as Transformer and Pacific Rim, contrast ‘advanced industrialized’ Northeast Asian global cities with ‘emerging’ Southeast Asian mega-cities.

Prof. Darvin will discuss how digital inequality happens. Your access to different devices and resources, internet connectivity, the algorithms of social media platforms, all shape different digital practices and position users in unequal ways.
