In appreciation of the long term support from the renowned philanthropist, Dr. Li Dak Sum, the University Library Extension is named as Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Building. Dr Li accompanying by Mr Kenneth Li, Chairperson of Sharp-Roxy (HK) Limited attended the naming ceremony on 16 May. Distinguished guests of the ceremony included Prof. Joseph J. Y. Sung, Vice Chancellor; Ms Louise Jones, University Librarian; members of the Ning Po Residents’ Association as well as teachers and students from Ning Po College and Ning Po No. 2 College.
Dr Li contributes tremendous support to education sector in both Hong Kong and mainland China. He has donated a total of HK$200 million to CUHK for establishment of R&D Centre for Chinese Medicine and Scholarship last year.
