Course Description | Electrocardiography (ECG) Circuit Theory and Design involves electronic circuit design, simulation, interfacing with software, wireless communication (WIFI) and data acquisition, to learn how to record an analyse the biosignal.
In this course, students can enrich knowledge in Heart Biology and Electricity in Physics, and learn about signal processing with low-pass, high-pass and notch filtering, and signal amplification. Students can also learn analogy-to-digital process and LabView programme.
Students maybe the first time to see their own ECG signals from the heart, and the experience aroused their interest in biomedical technology. |

Learning Outcomes | Students can learn how to design a biointrumentation electronic circuit to pick up biological signal and processing this signal via computer software.
In this course, students learn about signal processing with filter, signal amplification, analogy-to-digital process, wireless communication and Labview / C / C++ programme. |
||
Recommended Reading(s) / Reference(s) | To be provided in due course | ||
Course Assessment | Class participation (25%)
Lab assignments (25%) Project: Student can successfully design the circuit and detect the ECG and hear beat rate |
