LASEC Research unit

The LASEC Research Unit (LRU) was established in 2006 as a self financed unit based at the Prince of Wales Hospital. The Unit is responsible for the management and operation of animal facilities at the University hospital, as well as the Animal Biosafety Level 2 (ABSL2) facility on campus.

LRU is equipped to perform small scale non-GLP pre-clinical studies for toxicity or sighting studies.

LRU also provides management and surgical support to a number of University Departments and Centres, such as:

The Minimally Invasive Surgical Skills Centre
The School of Biomedical Sciences Animal Holding Core
The Cancer Centre
Animal Biosafety Level 3 Facility
