Import of Animals for Colony Establishment

All live animals entering CUHK must first be approved by the Director of LASEC so as to ensure they meet the same health status as CUHK facilities, or so that special arrangements can be made for animals not meeting these criteria. We have dedicated quarantine facilities available as well as offer re-derivation service. ......Please NOTE, it takes a minimum of 8 weeks (and occasionally up to 9 months) to import animals into Hong Kong. It then takes a minimum of 4-6 months to establish a colony......... Please make sure you plan ahead................

Transfer of Animals for Immediate Use

Special arrangements can also be made for transferring animals from other institutions in HK, either for immediate use or for breeding. Depending on their health status and the originating facility, they may be able to enter some areas directly, following quarantine, or for immediate use only. Please contact us for more details.
