UrbanactionsHK – International Public Space Design Competition

What’s the role of public space in the contemporary city? How to create an inclusive and vibrant space where the community can be fully represented? How can urban design encourage social interactions between different users? How to upgrade existing public spaces by using an integrated and comprehensive people-centred approach?

These are some of the critical questions that participants have to address in UrbanactionsHK, an international public space design competition proposed by UrbanactionsHK and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

The Competition is international and open to all undergraduate students regularly attending courses in Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Arts and Design. UrbanactionsHK encourages students to provide innovative ideas to upgrade four existing public spaces in the district of Central in Hong Kong.
