Call for Entries: The 50th St. Gallen Symposium – Global Essay Competition (Deadline: 1 February 2021)

The 50th St. Gallen Symposium hosted by the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland is now calling for entries for its Global Essay Competition. Students are cordially invited to take part in the essay competition to discuss the question ‘A Matter of Trust: How Can Trust be Repaired When It’s Lost?

The authors of the top 100 essays will be qualified as Leaders of Tomorrow and receive the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award for an expense waiver to participate in the Symposium. A prize money of CHF 20,000 will be shared among the authors of the top three essays.

The annual St. Gallen Symposium is the world’s leading initiative for intergenerational debates on economics, political and social developments. It will be held during 6–7 May 2021 at the University of St. Gallen, where participants can meet 300 of the world’s brightest young minds and join the debate with 600 senior leaders and decision makers worldwide.

Applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate programme (master level or higher) in any field of study
  • Born in or after 1991

The submission deadline for the essay competition is 1 February 2021.

An information session will be held by the representative of St. Gallen Sympoisum on 12 November (Thursday). You are invited to join the session to learn more about the essay competition and the symposium:
