As part of the 3+3+4 initiative, OUGE will host a 2.5-day PASS training session for up to 20 CUHK staff from December 8-10. You are invited to nominate colleagues in your Departments or Faculties to enroll in the captioned training.
PASS is a course-based, peer-led student group learning program. It consists of weekly one-hour, non-compulsory study sessions led by 'Peer Leaders', students who have excelled in the subject in the past. Widely implemented in the US and rapidly spreading to other parts of the world, PASS is proven to be effective in helping students master course subject, especially in courses with complex or difficult content.
PASS programs are coordinated by PASS Supervisors, who liaise with teachers in the program, and select, train and supervise Peer Leaders. A PASS Supervisor coordinates the PASS of multiple courses in a Department / Faculty. They can either be teachers or administration staff.
The coming training will be provided by the University of Wollongong (UOW), the accredited National Centre for PASS for the Australasian region. Each enrollment will be charged a nominal rate of HK$800 per head (original cost: AU$950). Post-training support will also be provided by the UOW.
