In view of the worsening risk of the spread of COVID-19, The Chinese University of Hong Kong announces special work arrangements that will be implemented from Wednesday (2 December). Each department/unit will review and maintain essential and necessary services. Except for those staff providing essential and necessary services, staff members whose work permits offsite handling will work on shift or work from home. This temporary arrangement will last for two weeks until 15 December and the University will closely monitor and review the situation as appropriate.
United College Office, Dean of Students’ Office and Tien Chi Microcomputer Laboratory will be closed during this period.

more就有關新冠肺炎確診個案的網上傳言,聯合書院今日(8月6日)澄清,至今只獲衞生防護中心知會一宗與湯若望宿舍相關的新冠肺炎確診個案。較早時曾有另外3名正在隔離檢疫的學生被送往醫院作進一步檢測,結果均為陰性,3人已經出院並繼續進行隔離檢疫。
書院於得悉湯若望宿舍出現確診個案後,已立即啟動「個案緊密接觸者自我隔離政策」,逐一通知宿舍二樓男層所有宿生留在房間內不能離開,直至衞生防護中心確認學生是否密切接觸者為止。被衞生防護中心界定為密切接觸者的學生,正接受隔離檢疫。
院方知悉可能有其他非宿生曾在宿舍逗留,故於昨日(8月5日)發出電郵予所有宿生,呼籲曾於宿舍內出入的非宿生即時聯絡本院。就此,院方再次促請曾於七月底到過湯若望宿舍二樓入住的非宿生,基於個人健康及公眾衛生的考慮,盡快與書院或學生事務處聯絡,以便我們與衞生防護中心作最快跟進。
聯合書院於年初疫情爆發時,已立即加強衞生及防疫管理措施,包括:
1. 實施宿舍出入及防疫管理,禁止訪客進入;
2. 宿生出入需要於櫃台登記及記錄時間;
3. 所有人士於宿舍內公眾地方必須配戴口罩;
4. 宿舍內不得進行任何人群聚集活動;
5. 所有人士進入宿舍時須量度體溫;
6. 宿舍提供酒精搓手液予出入人士使用。
院方獲悉確診個案後已即時進一步加強宿舍管理,對出入人士進行身份確認登記,嚴肅執行管理措施,詳情已於8月4日通知宿生。
為保障所有曾與確診個案接觸的員工和學生的健康和安全,院方早前已經關閉全棟湯若望宿舍、對相關房間及公眾地方進行徹底清潔及消毒,以及安排於相關地點工作的員工進行病毒檢測。
校方會繼續積極與衞生防護中心緊密聯繫,跟進有關安排。

moreAs the spread of the novel coronavirus has reached a critical stage, the University has elevated the Response Level against novel coronavirus to “Emergency”. All UC hostels will introduce the following arrangements with immediate effect:
1. The University has decided to extend the Lunar New Year holiday, classes will resume on 17 February 2020. Therefore, all students are encouraged to stay at home. Unless it is necessary, you should not return to the hostels to reduce the risk of infection.
2. Those who need to stay at hostels are required to comply with the following measures:
a. No visitors are allowed to enter hostel areas with immediate effect.
b. Residents are required to record their personal information and the time when they enter and leave the hostel, in order to let the warden keep track the condition of residents
c. All students who return to hostels are required to declare their travel history in the previous 14 days by filling in the Health Declaration Form (See below). They are also required to monitor their health status for 14 days by filling in the Self-medical Surveillance Form (See below). The forms should be submitted to their respective hostel wardens.
d. All residents should wear surgical mask at public area and wash their hands frequently.
e. Those who experience any illness, or get to know their roommate with illness symptoms, should contact warden and resident tutor immediately for necessary arrangement.
As the situation is critical at this moment, the College strongly advises all residents to stay at home, avoid contact with different people by reducing the risk of infection. All the above measures may cause inconvenience to residents but they are necessary and your health is always our primary concern. All of us are urged to take care of their personal health and look out for the well-being of those around us.
