Delegates at Sydney Summit II.
Prof. WONG Suk-ying, Associate Vice-President, and Ms. Shally Fan, Director of Academic Links, took part in the second Sydney Summit held by The University of Sydney (USyd) during 29-30 October 2019. With a focus on how universities can be agents for change, specifically for driving progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and shaping a better future for all, the summit gathered USyd’s priority partners to engage in discussions around contemporary challenges and opportunities for universities.
During the summit, Prof. Wong spoke at a panel on ‘University Frameworks for the SDGs’, sharing CUHK’s work in promoting sustainable development through research, teaching, as well as campus and community engagement.
CUHK and USyd have maintained a close relationship over the years. In addition to research collaborations in different areas such as medicine and law, the two universities have established the USyd-CUHK Partnership Collaboration Awards to foster and strengthen research collaborations. Besides, a joint laboratory, Analytic and Clinical Cooperative Laboratory for Integrative Medicine, promotes the advancement of integrative medicine. Both universities are members of the Worldwide Universities Network and Association of Pacific Rim Universities, among other networks.
