The CUHK Summer Institute (SI) 2020 held in August provided opportunities for some 130 secondary-five students to explore different academic fields and experience university education. Eight courses in accounting, chemistry, electrocardiography, law, marketing, nursing, philosophy, and sustainable tourism were offered online this year as face-to-face classes were made impossible due to COVID-19. Students enrolled in one to two courses which may count towards their undergraduate studies at CUHK upon successful completion of the courses.

SI did not only enlighten the participants on their undergraduate studies, but also provided useful advice on university admission application through the University Entry Workshop Series. Student reunions and post-programme activities will be arranged to turn virtual encounters into real friendships and networks as soon as the situation permits.
