| In HW1 Q1, you can take l much smaller than L (or more precisely l/L -> 0) in part (b) to simplify the calculation but you should not take this limit in part (a). In general the solution u(x,t) depends on l but the l-dependence will drop out in the limit l/L -> 0. |
