I am interested in criminology, criminal justice, and socio-legal studies in China. With my thesis, I hope to systematically demonstrate the social inquiry investigation in China’s juvenile criminal justice system, with an emphasis on qualitative social science research methods, like observation participation and semi-structured interview. I intend to discuss the enforcement subject of the social inquiry investigation, the content of the social inquiry report, and the factors that affect the judge’s decision in sentencing.
