Students who have attended all sessions will be granted a HKD $1,000 scholarship

 

* 12 - 13 August are reserved for make-up class in case there is any cancellation of classes due to bad weather or other unexpected factors.

 

Introduction:

The course will cover some basic elements within robotics, from the introduction to the role of robotics in the modern society, the history and the state-of-the-art developments in robotics, to some basic concepts in robotics related to the modelling, control and feedback. In addition to lecture classes, the hands-on component would allow students to apply their learnt knowledge to enable robot manipulators to perform some specific tasks.

Learning outcomes:   Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
  1. Appreciate the role of robotics in the modern society and its challenges
  2. Learn about the components of a robot or robotic system
  3. Extend STEM knowledge learnt in secondary education to the study of robotics
  4. Gain hands-on experience in commanding robot arms to perform different actions

*Students who complete the course and meet its requirement can opt for credit exemption when they study at CUHK
 
Expected applicants:   Students who are Studying in S4 to S6 or equivalent
Have taken at least one science course which include Biology, Chemistry, Combined Science, Physics, Information and Communication Technology, Design and Applied Technology, Mathematics Extended Module 1 or 2.
