College Fellow
Stephen HALL (何世勳) is a Fellow of CW Chu College and a Professor in the Faculty of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He obtained his LLB from the University of Queensland, his LLM with first class honours from the University of Technology Sydney, and his DPhil in law from the University of Oxford where he was a member of Oriel College. Before coming to Hong Kong, he was a member of the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales for six years where he was also Director of the European Law Centre. Professor Hall has been admitted as a barrister and solicitor in Australia, and practiced law with the Australian Attorney-General’s Department for nine years mainly in the areas of administrative law and judicial review. He was foundation director of the Juris Doctor (JD) programme at the City University of Hong Kong and is foundation director of the JD and JD/MBA programmes at CUHK. Professor Hall has served as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Law at CUHK, and has received both the CUHK Research Excellence and Exemplary Teaching awards. He is a member of the Judicial Studies Board of the Hong Kong Judiciary. Until the establishment of CW Chu College, he was affiliated with Chung Chi College, where he served as college co-ordinator in the Faculty of Law, college representative on the Faculty Board, and member of the Student Discipline Committee.
