- Financial Aid and Scholarships: The Chinese University of Hong Kong offers generous financial aid and scholarships for qualified applicants who wish to join research postgraduate and master's programs.
The Postgraduate Studentships, or PGS, is the major financial aid for Hong Kong Postgraduate Programmes in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, with a number of scholarships, prizes and awards, comprising the entire financial aid and scholarships system for Hong Kong postgraduate programme students in the University. On top of that, other financial support and funding are also regarded by students as a major financial aid and scholarships in their Hong Kong study.
PGS is designed for all full-time research postgraduate students, with no separate application is required. Currently, the amount of financial aid, in Hong Kong dollar, through PGS is around $16,000 to $17,000 per month. Once students receive their master or doctor admissions offers, PGS will be awarded. In order to recognise the outstanding academic and non-academic performance of students, other financial aid and scholarships will also be offered, for example, the CUHK Scholarship for Remarkable Endeavour for Admission, the Croucher Research Studentships and the Hong Kong Association of University Women Postgraduate Scholarships, etc.
For a few of programmes, the Tertiary Student Finance Scheme – Publicity-Funded Programmes (TSFS) which is set up and administrated by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) of the HKSAR Government can be applied by students as well. Students need not to be worried about the financial burden of study in these programmes in CUHK. More details of financial aid and scholarships can be found on website of the Office of Academic Financial Assistance, CUHK.
