Yan Oi Tong Jockey Club Tin Ka Ping Integrated Children and Youth Services Centre has organized the "Shout Playback Theatre School Rally" on 17 September 2019. Through performance of impromptu drama, the activity aimed at listening youth's voice, thereby admitting youth's positive and negative emotions. With our collaboration with Yan Oi Tong, we believed that the activity can foster students' accommodation into various stages of studies in social work. The drama show was performed by FM Theatre Power with the support of registered social workers of Yan Oi Tong. Undergraduate and postgraduate students were invited to participate in this meaningful activity.
There are four main characters in the playback theatre: Navigator, audience, musician and actor. Navigator guided audience to explore their intrinsic world and share their own stories, while actor and musician worked together to perform impromptu drama in order to vivify the stories of the audience. With such setting, audiences, i.e. our students, gained healing power by reviewing their own stories, and developed feelings of resonance with fellow classmates through watching the performance of stories of other students by the artists.
