The Faculty of Arts of CUHK comprises 11 departments and two language centres, which altogether offer master programmes, including Master of Anthropology, Master of Chinese Language, Master of Fine Art to Hong Kong and non-local students. Master of Anthropology in Hong Kong give s students a good opportunity to develop strong theoretical foundation in the field of anthropology. Students in the Master of Anthropology programme are encouraged to develop particular interests in the field.
Master of Chinese Language in Hong Kong introduces the latest trend in the study of Chinese literature and Chinese language in Hong Kong context. Courses related to the Master of Chinese Language programme include classical and modern Chinese literature, Chinese literary history, literary theory, creative writing, classic Confucian texts and Chinese thoughts. After completing the master programme, students are also expected to be familiar with both ancient and modern Chinese language with reference to language features such as grammar, phonetics, semantics, cognition, etc.
Master of Fine Art in CUHK, Hong Kong covers all art-related topics and is supervised by the Fine Arts Department, which has placed dual emphases on both studio art and art history. Students can contemporary art on one hand and promote traditional Chinese art and culture on the other hand. After graduation students can make significant contribution to the fine art field in Hong Kong, and internationally.
