Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Chemistry; (ii) a strong publication record and expertise in synthetic, medicinal, and/or materials chemistry; and preferably (iii) interest and experience in translational biomedical research.
The appointee will work under the supervision of Professor Dennis Ng.
Duties include:
- To design and synthesize a series of functional dyes that can be used as fluorescent probes and photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy;
- To develop efficient bioorthogonal ligation methods to conjugate these dyes with a range of tumor-targeting biomolecules;
- To perform in vitro and in vivo studies of these conjugates.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
