The Faculty is equipped with world-class facilities, and is committed to research of both breadth and depth. Our teachers are dedicated and determined researchers whose success can be reflected by the number of quality research papers published and the many competitive grants, prizes and awards that they have won as individuals or as part of a team. Over the past few years, our Faculty has secured external competitive grants and published over 2,400 research articles in well-known international journals. Moreover, three of the eight Areas of Excellence (AoE) awarded by the University Grants Committee to the local tertiary institutions are led by our Faculty. They are related to Plant and Fungal Biotechnology, Organelle Biogenesis & Function and Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security.
