Junior Fellows

Yifu Dong

Yifu Dong graduated in 2017 from Yale University with a BA in History. While at Yale, Yifu enjoyed working as an English and Mandarin tutor. Today, he enjoys writing and sharing ideas with people near and far. He is a competitive amateur Go (weiqi) player and a fan of the Boston Red Sox. You may spot him running on the university’s track in the morning or hear the sound of his accordion floating down Morningside’s halls. Want to know more? Juliet Levesque

Juliet Levesque graduated from Connecticut College in 2020 with a BA in History and a Museum Studies Certificate. She studied Pacific Studies in Wellington, New Zealand at the University of Victoria Wellington, and worked at The New Zealand Portrait Gallery Te Pūkenga Whakaata. Her research has focused on dismantling power dynamics and increasing cultural competency in museums. Juliet enjoys volleyball, home improvement projects, and long walks on the beach. Maryellen Stohlman-Vanderveen

Maryellen Stohlman-Vanderveen, better known as Mel to friends and family, graduated from Smith College in 2019 with a BA in philosophy and a minor in psychology. She spent the last year teaching English in the Czech Republic as part of a Fulbright fellowship. Her philosophical research has focused on the intersections of her two disciplines with a special focus on the philosophy of emotions, normative ethics, and language. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, trying new foods and getting to know people through conversation. Want to know more?
