Late drop option is not offered for some professional programmes or certain other courses. Please refer to the information announced in RES homepage. For such courses, you will have to follow the normal procedure for dropping courses as stipulated by the University Regulations.
If the course you want to drop is not one of the above-mentioned courses but you cannot drop it under CUSIS by yourself, either because it is a postgraduate course or you have not also dropped its co-requisite course (e.g. the message “You cannot drop this class without also dropping its co-requisite” appears for the latter case), please send e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 2 May 2020 (10:00 p.m. HK Time) for RES to follow up. Email received AFTER the above deadline shall NOT be entertained.
Once you have late dropped the course under CUSIS within the stipulated period, your option for Pass/Fail grading option for the same course through the online form will NOT be handled. Therefore you should think carefully before opting for either late drop or Pass/Fail grading option.
If you late drop the course by mistake under CUSIS within the stipulated period and in fact want to opt for Pass/Fail grading option for the course, you MUST send e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 2 May 2020 (10:00 p.m. HK Time) for RES to follow up. Email received AFTER the above deadline shall NOT be entertained.
If you pass the course, you will earn the credit units of the course as specified.
Since courses opted to be graded Pass/Fail will not contribute to the calculation of grade point average (GPA) including Term GPA, you will be in "Good Standing" in the next academic term unless you fail in more than half of the units of courses taken in Term 2, and for the latter the Regulation 10.0 shall still apply to you. Besides, if you are on probation or extended probation in Term 2, your probation status for the next academic term shall NOT be lifted since you have NOT obtained a Term GPA of 1.5 or above in Term 2 according to Regulation 10.3.
