Why Morningside?

Morningside’s most important feature is its small and vibrant community of students and Fellows.  Students who thrive at Morningside College are curious, versatile, and eager to participate in College life.  Morningside’s student body is highly diverse with international, mainland Chinese and local students. Our Fellows represent many academic disciplines; students come into regular contact with their faculty ‘mentors’ during Communal Dinners and College events. Students at Morningside are encouraged to celebrate their diversity and engage with students from different cultures. Morningside’s culture is highly communal and students are expected to maintain this emphasis throughout their years here. Above all, Morningside is a place for exploration, growth and learning: we encourage students with similar ambitions to see if Morningside is a fit for them.

How to Apply

Local, mainland, and international students

Students must be admitted to study at The Chinese University of Hong Kong before applying to Morningside College.  Information about the University’s admissions requirements can be found on the webpage of the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA).

Following admission to the University, students are invited by OAFA to prioritize their college preferences. Students interested in Morningside may be invited for an interview at the College. Travel distance and students’ home conditions are not part of Morningside’s criteria for admissions. Instead, the College looks at students’ academic record, breadth of interests and extracurricular potential as benchmarks for eligibility. Successful applicants will be notified by OAFA after the college assignment process is completed.

Exchange Students

Students participating in college-to-college exchanges are automatically admitted to Morningside. Students participating in university-to-university exchanges will be admitted to one of the nine CUHK Colleges. Please contact the Office of Academic Links (OAL) for more information.
