Personal Information, “My Academics” and “1st Term Course Enrolment” under CUSIS |
Dear Student, |
May we extend our warm welcome to you in joining CUHK! Please take note of the following essential information before you register courses on 1 September (Tuesday). |
1. |
Personal Information and “My Academics” in “Profile” tile under CUSIS |
To ensure data accuracy, please review once again the records of name, addresses, emergency contact information in “Profile” tile under CUSIS, and to update them whenever necessary. You may also enquire detailed academic information under “My Academics”, including your major programme, sub-plan/concentration (where applicable), study period, etc. All information is generated by system interface from the admission system. Please check the information carefully and seek advice from the Registration and Examinations Section (RES) if there are any discrepancies. |
2. |
1st Term Teaching Timetable |
Students may logon CUSIS and use any one of the following system functions to check the timetable information: (i) Class Search, (ii) Browse Course Catalog and (iii) Teaching Timetable by Subject/Department. By using the system function (iii), students can enquire BOTH course registration and teaching timetable information on the same page. Please note that the teaching timetable for 2nd term 2020-21 will be released around mid-October 2020. Further e-mail notification will be sent nearer the time. Students should pay special attention to “Teaching Mode” and “Class Notes” listed on the Teaching Timetable before course registration. For details on how to enquire such information, please refer to the information on “1st Term Course Registration and Add/Drop 2020-21 for New Students”. For this academic term, most classes will adopt online teaching but some classes with strong pedagogical reasons have been approved to have face-to-face teaching mode or mixed-mode teaching by the University. Please inform course teachers after course registration if you cannot attend physically the face-to-face teaching. |

1st Term Course Enrolment under CUSIS (1 September) |
Students MUST check their time appointment for course selection in “Enrollment Dates” under CUSIS from 25 August. If there is any discrepancy, please report to RES by e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). It is students' responsibility to logon the system at the designated time appointment. Please also follow the procedures as announced under “Information on 1st term Course Registration and Add/Drop 2020-21 for New Students” posted under RES homepage and pay special attention to the following dates: |
i. |
Pre-select classes and ‘Validate’ in Shopping Cart starting from 25 August |
ii. |
Enquire pre-assigned classes under “View My Classes” on 28 August (or 31 August for new Mainland students) |
iii. |
Finish course enrollment on 1 September |
4. |
Some important points to note: |
i. |
Always check Major, Minor, and other University requirements under on-line Student Handbook |
Students may use the “My Academic Requirements” in “Academic Progress” tile under CUSIS to monitor their own academic progress and check their course fulfillment for graduation requirements. Besides, students should also refer to the study schemes of Major, Minor (if applicable), and also other University requirements stipulated under the on-line Undergraduate Student Handbook available at the homepage of the Academic and Quality Section of the Registry (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/aqs). |
ii. |
Students on the wait list under CUSIS |
Students on the wait list will enroll automatically up to the new quota of the class whenever the quota is increased, or when the quota is freed up by students who have dropped the class, subject to fulfillment of course enrolment rules and with no timetable clashes. Therefore, students MUST check their updated course enrolment under “View My Classes” on a daily basis, and MUST remove their name on their own from the wait list if they do not intend to enroll in the class concerned. |

Smart Tips from ITSC |
• |
Each student should only make a single logon to CUSIS for course enrolment via MyCUHK (http://portal.cuhk.edu.hk). ITSC may take action against any students who purposely write computer scripts for course enrolment or have multiple logins. |
• |
CUSIS will timeout after it has been idle for 20 minutes. |
• |
Check CUSIS client workstation hardware & software requirement at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/cusis/com/cusis-PCrequirement.pdf. |
• |
OnePass password should be kept in strict confidence and should never be shared with others, since this password and the student ID number will enable others access to all personal and academic information kept in the student record system of the University. Please change your OnePass password on a periodic basis. |
5. |
Assessment Policy of the University |
Please take note of the University's policy on assessment of student learning in taught programmes which is available at this website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/policy/assessment. |
