Important Information for the Start of New Academic Year 2020-21 |
Dear Student, |
Please be informed of the following important information in relation to the start of new academic year and course enrolment under CUSIS. |
1. |
Update personal information in “Profile” tile under CUSIS |
All students should review their own personal information under CUSIS, and update them whenever necessary, since the University may need to contact you by mail/phone in some urgent occasions. For students who are going to graduate in 2020-21, please be reminded that upon graduation, students' personal data will be converted to alumni data for further communication and other purposes, where applicable. |
2. |
Check ‘My Academics’ in “Profile” tile under CUSIS |
For students who have applied and been approved for declaration/change of major or study period with effect from 1 August 2020, they should check carefully under CUSIS ‘My Academics’ whether the records have been updated. Besides, other students should also check carefully their expected term of graduation. If there are any discrepancies, they MUST contact RES for clarification. |
3. |
e-Communication from RES |
Please note that for emails/scanned copy of letters to be sent to individual students, we shall send ONLY by email from this designated mailbox: "RES NO Reply" (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Hardcopy letters will not be sent to students' mailing address except for cases that involve discontinuation and possible discontinuation of studies. Please support us to achieve a green campus. If any students require to get the original copy of the letter issued by RES, they can contact our staff at our counter (10/F, Yasumoto International Academic Park) within 6 months from the issue date of the letter. |
4. |
1st Term Teaching Timetable |
Students may logon CUSIS and use any one of the following system functions to check the timetable information: (i) Class Search, (ii) Browse Course Catalog and (iii) Teaching Timetable by Subject/Department. By using the system function (iii), students can enquire BOTH course registration and teaching timetable information on the same page. The teaching timetable information will be updated on a periodic basis, i.e. every Tuesday and Friday until 7 August for 1st term teaching timetable. Please note that the teaching timetable for 2nd term 2020-21 will be released around mid-October 2020. Further e-mail notification will be sent nearer the time. |
Students should pay special attention to “Teaching Mode” and “Class Notes” listed on the Teaching Timetable before course registration. For details on how to enquire such information, please refer to the information on “1st Term Course Registration and Add/Drop 2020-21”. Information on “Teaching Mode” will be posted on CUSIS Teaching Timetable from 4 August. For this academic term, most classes will adopt online teaching but some classes with strong pedagogical reasons have been approved to have face-to-face teaching mode or mixed-mode teaching by the University. Please inform course teachers after course registration if you cannot attend physically the face-to-face teaching. |
5. |
1st Term Course Enrolment under CUSIS |
Students MUST check their time appointment for course selection in “Enrollment Dates” under CUSIS from 5 August. If there is any discrepancy, please report to RES by e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). It is students' responsibility to logon the system at the designated time appointment. |
Except for some students who have already been given prior approval for exceeding term course load on a programme basis, all students applying for exceeding term course load should submit their application form to Major Programme by email by 5 August (applicable to updating of course load for course selection in August) or by 7 September (applicable to updating of course load for add/drop in September). |
6. |
Assessment Policy of the University |
Please take note of the University's policy on assessment of student learning in taught programmes which is available at this website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/policy/assessment/. |
7. |
