Background

The Centre for Quality of Life is a centre of Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies (HKIAPS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). It is the first centre specializing in Quality of Life (QoL) research in Hong Kong and in different Chinese communities. Driven by the motive of enhancing the well-being of Hong Kong youth, the QoL Centre organizes the ‘MTR-CUHK Youth QoL Champions Competition', sponsored by the MTR Corporation and co-organized by Education Bureau. 

Aims

• To provide the youth with an opportunity to serve the community and contribute to the society;

• To encourage positive attitudes among the youth towards life and cultivate a sense of belonging to Hong Kong;

• To draw public’s attention to help the youth and train their leadership skills.

Eligibility

The Competition is open to all full-time Secondary 4 and secondary 5 students in Hong Kong.

Details

• Interested schools should set up a Youth QoL Champion team. Each team should consist of 5-10 members and be supervised by a school teacher.

• Each team needs to submit a proposal for organizing a project to enhance youth’s psychological quality, peers and family relationship.

• 10 proposals will be selected. A funding support of up to HK$10,000 will be provided on a reimbursement basis to each selected team for implementing the proposal.

• Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be selected among the 10 proposals.

Prizes and Awards

• All participating team members will receive a Certificate of Participation.

• Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will receive a cash award of HK$20,000, HK$10,000 and HK$5,000 respectively. Other selected teams will also receive cash awards of HK$1,000.

• Each selected team will be awarded book coupon valued at HK$1000.
• Best presentor award
