Abstract

  • In response to a recommendation from the University Grants Committee, the Early Feedback Collection System was introduced in 2015 to collect midterm feedback from students on the quality of individual courses.

  • This evaluation study conducted from the users’ perspective aims to ascertain the impact of this early feedback exercise in effecting improvements in instructional quality and student learning.

  • A mixed-method approach (involving questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews) is adopted for this study to elicit detailed opinions and experiences from the users regarding the effectiveness of the early feedback system.

  • The knowledge gained from the analysis will be communicated back to senior management to inform future planning and decision-making. Suggestions and recommendations derived from this evaluation will also be provided to the university for consideration and further action.
