A team consisting of CUHK GBS students from 3 different batches won the 1st runner-up and the Social Venture Award in CUHK Vice-Chancellor’s Cup of Entrepreneurship 2012. The event was organized by the CUHK Center for Entrepreneurship and sponsored by SOW Asia Foundation.
The competition was open for all undergraduate and postgraduate students in CUHK. It aimed at enhancing students’ entrepreneurial spirit and nurturing future entrepreneurs. The judging panels were made up of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and investors.
Participants include Angela Li (GBS Batch 5), Keith Poon and Veronica Lau (GBS Batch 6), Michael Ng and Zoe Ng (GBS Batch 7).
Apart from being the 1st runner-up, the GBS team also won the Social Venture Award for the social value of the business plan. A sum of $13,000 scholarship was awarded and the team later on represented CUHK to take part in Asia Venture Challenge in Thailand.
