The BBA in Professional Accountancy (PACC) programme nurtures professional accountants and specialists in accounting-related areas. PACC programme focuses on developing students’ analytical, problem-solving, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values, which help them deal with the increasingly complex and inter-connected business world effectively so as to become future leaders in the accounting and business community.

To response to the rapid change in the business environment and market demand, four specialised streams are offered. The Global Accounting (GA) stream is offered for elite accounting students who aspire to acquire a global mindset as well as an understanding of international accounting practices and issues. They will gain international exposure through non-local training experience, with scholarships awarded to students with academic merit.

The Global Tax and Governance (GTG) stream is offered to students who would like to know more about global tax, regulatory and corporate governance issues.

A new Finance for Accountants (FA) stream will be offered in 2019-2020. In addition to accounting courses, students will be exposed to a wide array of finance courses such as corporate finance, international finance, financial markets, investment analysis and portfolio management.

In addition, an Accounting Analytics (AA) stream will be launched in 2019-20 for accounting students who would like to rise to the challenges and opportunities that data analytics may present to the profession and are interested in getting hands-on experience with data analytics.

Moreover, PACC students are offered with many options in taking minors to broaden their scope of studies, including Computer Science, Journalism and Communication, Psychology and Modern Languages, etc. There are ample opportunities for students to join exchange and internship programs; and to apply for scholarships. Our students had outstanding performance in case analysis competitions including regional and global competitions.

PACC program is highly recognised by international professional and accreditation bodies such as the AACSB International, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) , the CPA (Australia) and the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK). All PACC graduates are eligible to apply for the Qualification Programme of the HKICPA, or to take other professional examinations. Consistently, our graduates have outstanding performance in professional examinations. They are mostly preferred and recruited by international accounting firms. Some PACC graduates join organisations in other sectors, such as banking, finance, consultancy, and the public sector.
