Measures to identify predisposition to sudden cardiac death
Acquired QT interval prolongation, a measure of delayed ventricular repolarisation, has been linked with a predisposition to sudden cardiac death. The systematic review on the “Predictive Value of T peak - T end Indices for Adverse Outcomes in Acquired QT Prolongation: A Meta-Analysis” shows that ventricular repolarization indices may provide additional predictive value for identifying high-risk individuals (Front Physiol. 2018 Sep 3;9:1226. doi: 10.3389/fphys.2018.01226. eCollection 2018).
